Deep Sea Fishing Aboard The Nor'easter

About Us

Born and raised to an old-time Wells, Maine, family, Captains Steven and Michael Perkins have spent their whole lives on the sea. First cousins, they went lobster fishing with their grandfather as youngsters, learning the ways of the ocean while having fun. Steven worked on a party boat and dragger during school vacations, then bought his first boat in 1976. He worked the party fishing trade summers and rigged the boat for commercial fishing winters for several years out of Perkins Cove in Ogunquit. Before long he bought a steel dragger and moved to commercial fishing full time. For the next 30 years Steven prospered in his field, eventually owning two large steel draggers and fishing them out of Gloucester, Massachusetts, home of American fishing since the 1600’s.

Michael followed a different route, but also kept close to the sea. For several years he worked for others on lobster boats and draggers – including several years working out of Gloucester with Steve. He decided he preferred the lobstering trade, and has owned several boats. For the last 10 years he has lobster fished year-round out of Kennebunkport and Wells Harbor, Maine.

Steven and Michael have joined forces to offer you a full day of party fishing, which takes advantage of their unique blend of experience and local knowledge. They have been United States Coast Guard certified Captains for 30 years and 10 years, respectively. Their vessel, the Nor’easter, was completely retrofitted in the spring of 2006 and now meets or exceeds all USCG safety standards. Bright and roomy, the boat is comfortable and very seaworthy.

Today the Nor’easter sails daily out of quiet Wells Harbor, Maine, from early spring through November. Bring your lunch and a warm jacket, enjoy plenty of free parking at Wells Harbor, and join us for a day of fun and fishing.
